The article examines the main mechanisms of modernization of the environmental policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the present stage. The authors pay close attention to the problem of compliance with environmental standards for the development of the country’s economy in the conditions of market relations. New approaches to state management in accordance with the requirements of environmental standards are carefully studied. The authors analyze in detail the socio-political fundamentals and basic environmental rights of the citizens.
