The purpose of the article is to identify and to conduct a SWOT analysis of the peculiarities and political and administrative potential of blockchain technology in a chronological perspective and at the present stage of digital transformation. The wide range of topical issues that require additional research efforts precisely from political science positions in the context of implementing of Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 8 "On the Development of the Digital Economy" is remained.
