Abstract

In Japanese policy, it is very rare to find prime ministers who hold long-term positions in power or are elected for the second time. Shinzo Abe was recognized as one of the prime ministers newly elected to power in 2012. Although his first reign in 2006-2007 failed, this did not prevent him from getting a second chance to correct his mistakes. One of the policy changes he proposed during his second reign is the Abe doctrine. According to the Abe Doctrine, several principles were formed, on the basis of which the processes of introducing and developing changes in Japan's domestic and foreign policy began to be carried out. However, many years have passed since the adoption of this doctrine, and the cabinet of Shinzo Abe came to the board of the new prime minister. This article discusses the goals of the Abe doctrine, its results and consequences, as well as the impact and changes of the doctrine on Japan's foreign policy.
