Abstract

The concept of "elite" has always played an important role in the theories and concepts of the humanities. After all, elite groups are necessary for any sphere of human activity, so the interest of society in the problem of the political elite leadership, in modern theories and their sources is natural, legitimate, acceptable concept. The power of modern elites is based on modern values which include in particular, industrial (especially financial) capital, education, and professional achievements, etc. Accordingly, the modern elites include entrepreneurs, educated political leaders, representatives of the scientific and technical intelligentsia, and artists who directly or indirectly occupy positions of power or have the ability to significantly influence political decision-making. Political scientists offer a number of options for classifying elites according to typical unifying features. For example, according to the position in the management of society - the ruling (that is, directly in possession of state power), the opposition (counter-elite), the highest, middle, and administrative elites.
