Abstract

The article analyzes the issues of the political culture of South Korean youth, which have not yet been sufficiently studied in socio-political science. The article examines the little-studied aspects of the problem: the historical roots of the political culture of youth in South Korea; the peculiarities of the formation of political culture among South Korean youth; modern challenges and prospects for the development of political culture among South Korean youth. The article notes that the political culture of each state is the basis for the formation and development of the political system, which implies the activity of the country's citizens in this direction. South Korean youth, together with their people, gradually but surely cultivated an awareness of the democratic future of their country and the formation and development of a legal culture, a rule of law state. All youth movements and protests in South Korea are part of the formation of such an important concept as political culture.
Young people in South Korea advocate for environmental protection, human rights, socio-political justice and other key values. Their participation in public life and the political process contributes to the development of their political culture. South Korean youth actively use Internet platforms to express their political views and form public opinion. The modern political culture among the youth of South Korea is facing a number of challenges that affect their active participation in the political life of the country. An important aspect is the limited representation of young people in key political institutions, such as the National Assembly and local assemblies. However, despite these challenges, there are prospects for improving the political culture among young people in South Korea. The article also focuses on controversial issues.
