Abstract

The article provides a comparative analysis of state modernization policies in three leading East Asian countries – Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. The research aims to identify the characteristics of socio-economic and political renewal processes in these countries, determining similarities and differences in their development models. The article examines the main stages of the formation and development of the «Asian Tigers» phenomenon and analyzes the specific features of each country's modernization strategy. The study explores Japan's post-war recovery experience, South Korea's industrial-innovative development path, and Singapore's transformation process into a «smart city-state». The research pays particular attention to such important aspects as public administration system reforms, economic policy transformation, social modernization, and technological development strategies. The study identifies successful and problematic aspects of each country's modernization policy and evaluates its ability to adapt to contemporary challenges. The article also formulates the main lessons from the modernization experience of these countries and analyzes their measures to maintain competitiveness in the modern global economy. The study employs a comprehensive approach to analyzing modernization processes, which allows for identifying both general patterns and national development characteristics of each country. The research results demonstrate that modernization success is largely determined by the state's ability to effectively combine traditional values with modern development imperatives and adapt international experience to the national context.
