The value world of modern youth is quite complex and it is impossible to fully reflect it with the help of sociological research. In this article an attempt to study the value orientations of student youth. An empirical base of research was a questionnaire conducted among 2nd year students of two higher educational institutions in Almaty. As a result of the analysis, the most significant value orientations of student youth, trends in their changes were highlighted. Certain conclusions were drawn that indicate that for most, traditional values like family, hard work, health, knowledge remain the most significant.
