Generalized, stable ideas about a people provide interesting material for analyzing their national characteristics and other characteristics that are quite difficult to define. It is extremely difficult to study the national character, since it does not lend itself to direct observation, but manifests itself indirectly — through words, actions, attitudes to various phenomena.
