The rapid development of information and communication technologies has become a catalyst for the emergence of "verbal/informational extremism", which poses a serious threat to the national security system of the institution of the state and society. As you know, the most relevant and significant aspect of this issue is the fact that the main consumers of digital platforms around the world are young people, who are therefore at risk of indoctrination and recruitment by extremist groups. Therefore, the present study is aimed at analyzing the degree of effectiveness of the state policy of implementing preventive and counteraction measures to verbal extremism among young people and the general population of Kazakhstan. The identification and assessment of problems in this area is carried out through an interdisciplinary methodological paradigm, the empirical part of which includes the presentation of government statistical reports, analytical reports from international organizations, as well as an analysis of technical blocking and circumvention technologies for digital applications, and consideration of the possibilities of "migration" of digital radicalization between different platforms. Thus, the article demonstrates the activities of government agencies, which led to significant blocking of dubious domains and materials from the point of view of the state. From the authors' point of view, such response approaches probably lead to positive results, but they do not provide a complete guarantee that there will be no access to prohibited sites – they can be circumvented using these applications and at the same time maintain anonymity. The existence of restrictive policies and restrictive measures alone is insufficient to combat extremist activity within the framework of ensuring socio-political and cultural stability in society.
